AUGUSTA -- John C. Bridge is Maine's Philanthropist of the Year.

The Manchester resident, former Augusta mayor and longtime Augusta businessman currently is serving as co-chairman of fundraising efforts to build a new YMCA in the capital city. Bridge and his own family gave those efforts a kick with $1.25 million donation in March."
