Carroll County Times: Westminster, Maryland

Carroll County Times: Westminster, Maryland: "We're workers,' Martin Hill said. 'Philanthropists are people with names like Krieger or Carneige.'

But there's evidence that it is completely appropriate to call the Hills philanthropists. Recently, Martin Hill chaired McDaniel's comprehensive 'Defining Moment' campaign, which raised more than $41 million. Kelly is now heading up a similar effort at Carroll Community College, aiming to raise $4 million that would go to everything from student scholarships to the school's library and nursing program.

Plus, they have an official philanthropist designation. In October they were named 2006's outstanding philanthropists of the year by the Maryland chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals."
