Outstanding Washington State Philanthropists to be Honored at Association of Fundraising Professionals Washington... -- SEATTLE, Sept. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --: "SEATTLE, Sept. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Association of Fundraising Professionals Washington Chapter has named six outstanding philanthropists to honor at its National Philanthropy Day luncheon.

The luncheon will be held Nov. 5, at The Westin Hotel in downtown Seattle. More than 1,000 donors, volunteers, leaders and other supporters of nonprofit organizations are expected to attend – making it one of the largest National Philanthropy Day celebrations in the nation.

The Idaho chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals is

Nonprofit fundraisers to gather for Philanthropy Day luncheon - Community Impact Newspaper: The Greater Austin chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals will hold its annual Philanthropy Day awards luncheon Feb. 12 at the Hyatt Regency Austin Hotel. Chapter members nominated nine honorees in eight categories.

"Generally nonprofits who benefit from the honorees' volunteer service or receive significant financial contributions from outstanding philanthropists nominate potential honorees," said Seth Sather, AFP Greater Austin chapter spokesman. "Each awardee is seen by the nominating organization as a tremendous asset in helping them achieve their respective missions."

Ceremony Honors People, Organizations for Philanthropy - NBC29 WVIR Charlottesville, VA News, Sports and Weather: Since 1990, the Shenandoah Chapter has thanked those individuals, groups and businesses making a positive difference through awards. Leaders say the honorees' ripple effect is great and they hope the award presentations will inspire others to give back.

One award recipient, Amy Laser Kiger, has led fundraising efforts at Blue Ridge Community College for 15 years. Between working to make education possible for college students, serving at her church, and volunteering with Staunton's Kiwanis Club, she stays pretty busy.

In honour of National Philanthropy Day (Friday, November 15), the following excerpt by Holly Wagg summarizes why inclusive giving matters.

“Last week was the sixth workshop in AFP's Inclusive Giving project and the focus is on Women and Philanthropy. Over the past eight months a dedicated group of volunteers has shaped a vision for the discussions - everything from women's motivations for giving to insights into the challenges female philanthropists face.”
