Atlanta Daily World: "Atlanta construction executive Herman J. Russell Sr. believes that philanthropy, as well as entrepreneurship, plays an integral role in one's life.
He is chairman of H.J. Russell & Co., one of the nation's largest African American-owned companies.
'I have always believed in giving back of my time and resources to support initiatives that help to improve the quality of life for others,' Russell said.
He was recognized as the 2006 Georgia Philanthropist of the Year for his work with local youth by the Greater Atlanta Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals in November."
