Yankton To Receive State Philanthropic Award Friday | Yankton Press & Dakotan

Yankton To Receive State Philanthropic Award Friday | Yankton Press & Dakotan: "The South Dakota Community Foundation nominated Yankton for the award. The final decision was made by the South Dakota chapter of the AFP. 'We selected Yankton because of its record of philanthropic activities not only this past year but in recent years,' added Noel Hamiel of the South Dakota Community Foundation. 'Yankton has a long history of charitable work. That was demonstrated by the major projects your community has embarked on and completed. It's a long list.' The AFP represents nearly 28,000 members in more than 190 chapters around the world. It advances philanthropy through advocacy, research, education and certification programs, according to its Web site. A large group of Yankton delegates will attend the AFP's National Philanthropy Day luncheon Friday in Sioux Falls where the city will be recognized for its accomplishments."
