Philanthropy event offers thanks to those who reach out

Too often, people get caught up in the whirl of their own lives to look to the world beyond them.
However, the people recognized during the fifth annual Fort Dodge Philanthropy Day Awards luncheon Friday at the Best Western Starlite Village not only look beyond themselves, they reach out and take action.
‘‘We’re here to honor individuals and organizations who set such fine examples for the rest of us, ’’ said Laurie Hagey, Philanthropy Day chair. ‘‘We want to take this opportunity to salute all of you who daily change our world.’’
