Some of the most generous people in the Quad-Cities gathered Thursday night to salute the spirit of giving during the Philanthropy Day awards reception sponsored by the Quad-Cities chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

“It is no accident that Philanthropy Day comes so near Thanksgiving Day,” said Gary Rowe, chairman of the event. “This uniquely American holiday affords us an opportunity to celebrate our many blessings. Not the least of these is philanthropy, which changes lives and saves lives in our communities and throughout the world.”
