Is philanthropy a dying pursuit, especially among the baby boomer generation? 'My generation is selfish,' says Sara Price Provencher, great-granddaughter of the founder of one of Canada's largest family-run philanthropic organizations, the J.W. McConnell Family Foundation. 'We work hard for our money, so we want to keep it, show it off and save it for the future.' And Quebec is no exception to the syndrome of self-interest. 'Made in Quebec: Leadership Panel on Preparing the Next Generation of Philanthropic Leaders' will provide a forum to discuss these issues on Nov. 15, National Philanthropy Day."
