NewsAdvance.com | Hill City legend dies at age 63: "Dolan, who once considered becoming a Benedictine priest, loved the idea of volunteerism and donating money to worthwhile causes.

He and his wife, MaryJane, supported United Way of Central Virginia, Amazement Square and Lynchburg Neighborhood Development Foundation with their gifts.

The couple was scheduled to be recognized Tuesday night with the 2005 Outstanding Philanthropist award from the Virginia Piedmont Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

“In his memory and in MaryJane’s honor, we will be celebrating philanthropy here tonight,” said Liz Bryant, master of ceremonies for the event at Boonsboro Country Club."
