Philanthropy Day!By Cam Tait
In the past six years I have attended Philanthropy Day luncheons with a briefcase, a notepad, and a looming deadline. I've reported on the event, and while I tried to capture the atmosphere and the ambience, I was always looking for interviews and trying to find an angle that was even five degrees different from last year. And for those of you who have read my efforts in past years, you'll know that I have wondered why we have a Philanthropy Day. I have questioned - perhaps harshly at times - why we need to celebrate the grassroots of giving, which I always perceived as simply the right thing to do.
