Tallahassee Democrat | 11/15/2005 | Donors still sharing wealth: "The Association of Fund-raising Professionals, which sponsors National Philanthropy Day, will hold a news conference today in Washington, D.C., to release results of a new survey detailing the impact of the Gulf Coast Hurricanes on charitable giving.
'National Philanthropy Day comes at an especially poignant time this year given the impact of the Gulf Coast Hurricanes, the earthquakes in Pakistan and the continued conflict in the Middle East,' said Paulette V. Maehara, president and CEO of the association. 'Despite our many differences, the desire to give back to (the) community and society is common in all people.'"
