National Philanthropy Day is a day designated to celebrate giving. This is a time we can all celebrate, even if there's not a Rockefeller anywhere in the family tree.
National Philanthropy Day is an especially good time for communities like Perry County to celebrate the growth of rural philanthropy. A report by New Ventures in Philanthropy, an initiative of the Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers, reveals that rural philanthropy is a growing trend across the U.S.
What is rural philanthropy? It's rural residents, faced with urgent problems caused by declining populations and dwindling government resources, using grassroots philanthropy to revitalize their communities."
