Nominations are in for area philanthropists � TCPalm.com (User story from amyc.samctr#532981): The selected honorees will be announced at the annual National Philanthropy Day (NPD) luncheon scheduled for November 18th at Willoughby Golf and Country Club. NPD is a day set aside to honor those who provide and encourage the philanthropic spirit within our community, our state and our nation.
“The National Philanthropy Day luncheon is one of the highlights of the year for our AFP chapter,” commented Gigi Suntum, NPD Luncheon Chair. “It is a wonderful celebration of the spirit of giving that is so much a part of Martin and St. Lucie Counties.”

Detroit Free Press columnist Rochelle Riley to be honored for philanthropy | Detroit Free Press | freep.com: Free Press columnist Rochelle Riley has been named winner of the Neal Shine Award for Commitment to Philanthropy by the Greater Detroit Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. The award recognized Riley for "her focus on building communities, a consistent ethical foundation and showing a commitment to making metropolitan Detroit a better place to live." It will be presented Nov. 17 at the 20th annual National Philanthropy Day Dinner at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center.
