Philanthropy event honors Topsail High Student - News - Topsail Advertiser: Topsail High School’s Michael Castoro was honored as the “Student Fundraiser of the Year” at the Association of Fundraising Professionals North Carolina, Cape Fear Region Chapter’s annual National Philanthropy Day celebration on November 8. Castoro was honored for his dedication to philanthropy and the Performing Arts Department at Topsail High School.

Welty awarded for philanthropy: The San Joaquin Valley Chapter of Association of Fundraising Professionals has recognized Fresno State President John Welty for being an example of giving during his 20-year tenure.
Welty was honored with the Special Award for Philanthropic Leadership as part of AFP's 2012 National Philanthropy on Nov. 15.

Distinguished Honorees, the Crottys Honored by Mount Mercy Academy at National Philanthropy Day Luncheon
Distinguished Honorees, the Crottys Honored by Mount Mercy Academy at National Philanthropy Day Luncheon: The Western New York Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP WNY) honored local philanthropists at its annual "National Philanthropy Day" luncheon. The event took place on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Salvatore's Italian Gardens. Mount Mercy Academy was privileged to recognize Anita (Durkin '63) and Patrick X. Crotty as their 2012 Distinguished Honorees. Anita and Pat believe in the words of Catherine McAuley, Foundress of the Sisters of Mercy, who wrote in 1830's Ireland: "No work of charity can be more productive of good to society than the careful instruction of women."

Local philanthropists are honored - Toledo Blade: National Philanthropy Day was celebrated with a luncheon presented by the local chapter of Association of Fundraising Professionals Nov. 15 at The Pinnacle in Maumee. The local chapter, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, highlighted several generous supporters of the community. Chapter president Mary Galvin of University of Toledo, welcomed everyone.
