Roy Sakamoto honored for philanthropic efforts: "Roy Sakamoto honored for philanthropic efforts
KAHULUI – Hale Makua Trustee Roy Sakamoto was recently honored by The Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Aloha Chapter in recognition of his long-term philanthropic achievements in Hawaii.
The award for Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser was based on a culmination of Sakamoto’s continued efforts in helping Hale Makua achieve fundraising goals, his leadership role both on Hale Makua’s Board of Trustees and in spearheading fundraising events, and his success in motivating others to make contributions of time, money and talent."

Once again, I was honored to help judge the Suncoast Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals' annual philanthropy awards. Our votes were tallied and the winners introduced at the annual National Philanthropy Day luncheon Nov. 18 at Higgins Hall. I'm happy to report there is no shortage of generous givers in our community."
